On-Demand: Best Practices in Billing for Treatment In Place (TIP) Services

The AIMHI Reimbursement Committee held a round-table and received expert advice from Kim Stanley, the Chief Client Advocacy Officer for EMS|MC and Matt Zavadsky from PWW|AG.

Committee members heard from Kim and Matt on issues such as who is billing for TIP services, average charges by region, % of TIP claims paid and the average reimbursement of claims paid. Much of that information is from the PWW|AG EMS Financial Index Reports which can be found here.

The committee then engaged in vibrant discussion on issues such as what types of TIP services should be billed, what fee should be charged, and the difference between billing for TIP vs. Dead on Scene responses.
